The 2013 NFL Head Coaches Posed For A Class Photo

The NFL's annual meeting kicked off in Phoenix yesterday, and to celebrate, 30 out of the 32 head coaches posed for this lovely photo. Can you figure out who's missing? Black people! No. That'd be Sean Payton and Bill Belichick, neither of whom is particularly interested in or capable of being a good company man. But even without them, everyone is having a grand time! There's Jim Harbaugh, photobombing Pete Carroll. Andy Reid, the only one who didn't dress up! I bet these guys are going to do some trust falls, then make Marc Trestman pee his bunk by sticking his fingers in warm water. Photo credit: Esther Nisanova …

James Dolan Offers Draft Night Alternative

Knicks fans need a diversion from tonight’s NBA Draft. Paying attention to the goings-on in Brooklyn will only remind them of the team’s terminally sorry state and latest self-immolational threats. Well, owner James Dolan has just the ticket. While the basketball people he’s hired and stood by through thin and thinner do their thing at the Barclays Center, Dolan will be rocking the City Winery in Manhattan with his band, J.D. & the Straight Shot. Look for the Americana/alt-country combo, fresh off a tour opening for Don Henley and preparing for a swing through Europe with the Doobie Brothers, to play its new single, “I Know, You Know, I Know.” Barring a miracle, the band will not be playing “Fix The Knicks.” That’s a tune the owner wrote and recorded in 2011…

Tom Brady Would Be Making a Terrible Decision if He Plays For Los Angeles Chargers

data-mm-id=”_9m406170p”>The Tom Brady discussion is almost, if not arguably, eclipsing the remainder of the NFL playoffs as a conversational topic this week. Brady has made it clear that he does not plan to retire. What's less clear is if he will play the 2020 season in New England or head elsewhere. While today's Instagram post from Brady seemed to imply at least a desire to remain with the Patriots, there has been a lot of speculation that he could join the Los Angeles Chargers. This would be a terrible decision on his part. It's easy to see why the Chargers would want Brady. While we can debate until the cows come home whether a 43-year-old Brady would be a better football player next season than a 38-year-old Philip Rivers, the Chargers have made approximately zero im…

Michigan Wins Their First College Basketball National Title: This Day in Sports History

data-mm-id=”_xslzbobby”>Michigan entered the 1989 NCAA tournament with hopes of winning their first-ever college basketball national title. They got there on the back of star senior forward Glen Rice, who averaged 25 points per game that season. On April 3, 1989, they would prevail, beating Seton Hall 80-79 in overtime to win it all. They didn't get there without some drama, though. Before the tournament began, coach Bill Frieder announced he'd be leaving the team after nine years to coach at Arizona State. He planned to coach through the tournament, but Michigan AD Bo Schembechler fired him outright after the announcement and installed assistant Steve Fisher as the new head coach for the stretch run. His reasoning? "A Michigan man is going to coach a Michigan team.&#034…

The Bucks Gave Up So Much For Jrue Holiday, But It Doesn't Matter if Giannis Stays in Milwaukee

data-mm-id=”_5ltj54g5l”>Jrue Holiday has been traded to the Milwaukee Bucks according to Shams Charania. Many teams expressed interest in Holiday, but the Bucks ended up getting him for Eric Bledsoe, George Hill and three first round picks, plus the potential for two future pick swaps. This was the Bucks pushing all their chips into the center of the table. This was their big move to make Giannis Antetokounmpo happy and convince him to make Milwaukee his forever home.Bucks sending Eric Bledsoe and George Hill and draft compensation to New Orleans, sources said. https://t.co/3K12F8WGI9— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) November 17, 2020Milwaukee is sending three first-round picks to New Orleans in deal to acquire star Jrue Holiday, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA@Stadium.— Shams Charani…

data-mm-id=”_1aekfg2mp”>Ja Morant's offseason may be picking up where his regular season left off. Morant appeared to be seen holding a gun on Instagram Live over the weekend. In a video posted by one of Morant's friends, it looks like Morant in the passnger seat holding up a gun on video.JaMorant pic.twitter.com/XqJFwEOHTj— James Burnes (@JamesBurnes8) May 14, 2023It certainly looks like Morant. And the video streamed on the IG of someone he knows. If this really is exactly what it looks like it is that's… bad.The All-NBA teams were announced last week and Morant was not on any of them. This cost him about $39 million and can be directly linked to the time he missed near the end of the regular season, basically because he appeared on Instagram Live holding a gun. I…
